The Walking Is Over!

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to message you all to let you know that the walk is over. At 11 o'clock yesterday morning we arrived at The Oval after 2 weeks of walking.

As some of you might know already my walk unfortunately only lasted a week as I managed to get a blister on every square inch of my feet and when i went to A+E the doctor took one look at them and said no walking for a week as they had become infected.

As you can imagine I was absolutely devastated and although it sounds stupid I felt I had let everyone down. However Bert carried on and managed to complete every mile even though in the end his ankle had swelled up to double it's normal size.

I just want to take this opputunity to thank him for what he achieved his fitness (and stubborness) know's no bounds! Obviously this is not the end of our fundraising as we have our auction night on Thursday where we are hoping to raise a lot more money.

Finally on behalf of myself, Bert and Rach I just want to thank everyone for all their support and if you are coming on Thursday we look forward to seeing you.

Kind Regards Phil xxx

Who we are

My name is Philip Moralee, i am 30 years old and I live in Lincoln with my wife Rachel and my baby daughter Ellie May. I work at Waitrose in Lincoln where I am training to be an Assistant Section Manager.

My best friend Graham Dryburgh (or Bert for some unknown reason!) is 31 years old and also lives in Lincoln and is a Postman.

I have known Bert since we started secondary school at Branston Community College in 1988, although we didn't really become mates until we went on a German exchange with school in 1992. This trip also coincided with me and Bert properly discovering beer for the first time and it has been a downward slope ever since!!

Over the years we have both had our ups and downs in life but one thing we could both always rely on is that we are always there for each other and although it sounds quite soppy we have become more like Brothers than mates.

So when I first came up with the crazy idea about this walk there was only one person mad enough to join me and that was Bert.
